“Inside Out 2,” the sequel to Pixar’s beloved animated film “Inside Out,” delves into the intricate world of human emotions once again. Directed by Kelsey Mann, this zippy yet gooey adventure centres around teenage girlhood, belonging, and individuality. Let’s explore some key points from the film:
In addition to the familiar emotions—Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust—the sequel introduces new emotions like Anxiety, Embarrassment, and Sarcasm. These emotions collide and create a rollercoaster of feelings throughout the film.
A central theme revolves around authenticity. Riley, the 13-year-old protagonist, faces the challenges of puberty and the pressure to conform. The film emphasizes the importance of staying true to oneself rather than changing to fit in.
Parents play a crucial role in supporting their children’s paths. The film subtly highlights the impact of parental expectations and the need to avoid excessive pressure, which can lead to mental health issues.
Without giving away too much, I can confirm that the film delivers a satisfying resolution, allowing Riley to embrace her true self and navigate the complexities of growing up.
Overall, “Inside Out 2” combines imaginative storytelling with relatable emotions, making it a great watch for both kids and parents.

A great review. I recently had an opportunity to watch this movie recently and absolutely adored it. It’s an outstanding sequel which manages to improve on the first film considerably. I loved depiction of anxiety in the movie which was very true to reality. As someone with mental health issues, it resonated with me on a personal level. I do have issues with the pacing but otherwise this was a great film. Not quite as good as the original but still worth watching.
Here’s my thoughts on the first film:

An excellent review once again. I had a chance to finish my writeup for this film and thought I would share it here. As someone with severe anxiety, this film resonated strongly with me. I thought it was a superb sequel that was extremely well-made. I still prefer the first film, but this was an amazing movie all the same. Pixar at its best.
Here’s my thoughts on the sequel:
